I'm in the back court and my opponent is mid-court. I hit a lob but it's low
and comes off the back wall toward mid-court. My opponent turns to hit the
shot against the back wall but I'm in the way.
Hinder or avoidable?

Thanks,
John D.

Personally I would call a hinder on that one, since, if I recall, you
only have to have a z-shot and a staight shot at the front wall.

A few months ago I had someone decide they were going to take it off the
back wall - except I was standing there. That didn't stop them belting
it into my stomach. Next time he tried it *I* called the hinder!

This is NOT an avoidable as it was not an offensive opportunity that
you took away from your opponent.

while this is the correct answer I think your logic is suspect. If you
check in the rulebook there is no rational for the offensive shot. The
reason IMHO you should give for it not being avoidable is the fact that
the two shots he is required to yield i.e. straight in and to the cross
court corner are available.
